The Key 🗝️
Men,
You want to maintain strong, virtuous friendships. How do you do that? The key is the willingness to encounter “inconvenience”
An hour in traffic to meet a friend is a small price to pay for the good company that follows.
A great example of this is picking up a friend at the airport when Uber is an easy option. The comradery begins and you know you made the right decision.
Assisting your friend with his home renovation project may not be at the top of your list on a weekend, but how rewarding is it to help one’s friends with their challenges?
Wouldn’t you want and expect the same from them?
One does no build strong, virtuous friendships from convenience.
You build them from effort.
This commitment leads to stronger, longer lasting and virtuous brotherly bonds.
Years down the road, you won’t care about (or even remember) the traffic or heavy lifting.
What you will remember is the company of the friends that you have stood by and the ones that have stood by you.
That’s how you build memories
That’s how you build friendships
That’s how you build communities
"Without effort, you cannot be prosperous. Though the land be good, you cannot have an abundant crop without cultivation."

Thank you. Upon reflection, I can see that I made all my friends like this, yet I never could put it into words as well as you did. This feels like a moment of clarity for me. I will pass this on to mg children.
