Men,
“Stay the course.”
“Dig in your heels.”
“Hold the line.”
“Press on.”
These are the words you comfort yourself with.
But here lies the problem:
You love the toil - whether you admit it or not.
You’re a man, after all. You, just like the rest of us, are built for suffering.
But…there are two kinds of suffering:
Suffering long and mild, leading nowhere of consequence...
And suffering swift, short, and harrowing... leading to the life you wish to build.
As men, we take the former in gladness - happy to stagger down treacherous but very clear paths.
But at some point you encounter a blind leap that changes the game.
Many of men have subjected themselves to long suffering with the reward in mind, but as they look back on their lives at the end, they find themselves dismayed because the cost was not less than their reward.
For you, there is still time. Look forward with an unflinching eye.
Is the harvest coming? Or are you plowing a dead field? Are you too scared to admit it? Is your trust really in God?
A distinction must be made. You must not stop pursuing the goal at hand.
But you owe no loyalty to any given trail, except for the one blazed by Christ.
Hold fast to the peak, loose to the route that will get you there.
If such routines are squeezing the joy from your life
It is time to stop the waiting and align your goals to God’s will.
Unshackle the chains of your perseverant future.
It is time to live radically.
For the SAKE of the future.
Your family looks to you to create their world.
Today, chart a new course and face those blind leaps with faith.
Those shoulders of yours were made to broaden.
Don’t go numb with waiting and lose heart.
Get ACTION.
You have got to keep moving.
MOVE or Die.

This really resonated with me. "Are you plowing a dead field?" Thanks Nick.
