10 Vows Every Father Needs to Make
False promises will harm your legacy, Weak ones will shatter it.
Your influence impacts every descendant in your family.
False promises will harm your legacy, Weak ones will shatter it.
I Will Never Lie to You:
Honesty is a dying virtue in an age of digital falsehoods.
If you lie once you can never say: "Have I ever lied to you?" And expect an honest answer.
That goes for every question.
Have integrity. Lead by example.
I'm With You For Life:
You will always be their father. Your job doesn't end at the passage of some arbitrary number of days.
Continue to be a source of support until the day you are no longer able to.
I Will Die For You:
You know in your gut that you would run into a burning building.
Risking certain death.
Just for the hope of bringing your child out.
Do they know that?
I Stand Through Thick and Thin:
You should always take the side of your family.
Even when they're wrong.
You sort it out between you later.
But in the heat of the moment.. You stand up for your children.
I Will Say No When It Matters Most:
It might mean 'no' to spending time with the bad friend they've made.
It might be 'no' to staying up too late.
Or 'no' to once more helping of cake.
Provide REASON and RATIONALITY and let no be known as a favor, when the time is right.
I Will Protect You:
As a man, you need to remain alert.
Protect your children, don't drop your guard.
We still live in a hostile world hiding behind a veneer of civility.
All this means is it's harder to spot when danger will strike.
But it's always there.
I Will Not be a Source of Harm:
Your children deserve a source of comfort.
You don't fall into the 'Moms the comfort, Dads the disciplinarian" trap.
This creates divide.
Your children will confide in you, and respect your counsel through wisdom.
Not through unleashing wrath.
I Am Your Provider:
It has always been men's job to be the provider.
It doesn't matter what the current vogue trend of modernity says.
There will come a time where that will crumble.
You stop at nothing to make sure your kids have what they need.
I Will Support You:
Support them in their interests and pursuits. Be there for the highs, and the lows. Take time to learn and understand.
And be a participant, not an observer.
This is the real meaning of being there for your children.
I Will Always Love You:
Because you know your will.
But they need to know that too.
Don't say it.
Show it.
